Born from generations of passion, now carrying yours

About us

At ARDE, we design and hand-knit bags using carefully selected yarns, from upcycled materials sourced from excess factory production to refined satin fibres chosen for their elevated finish.

Most of our pieces are released in limited colour runs, shaped by the materials we’re able to source.
Because of this, once a colour is gone, it’s unlikely to return, making every ARDE bag feel unique and not something you’ll see everywhere.

We focus on creating bags that feel effortless to wear but considered in every detail, pieces that carry your essentials while elevating your everyday. Designed for city days, dinners, and special occasions, ARDE bags are made to move naturally with you.

More than anything, we believe in individuality. In choosing fewer, better pieces. In owning something that feels personal, crafted by hand and impossible to mass produce.

OUR STORY

Our story begins, as it should, with a bag. Luci has been knitting and crocheting since a young girl, taught by her grandma and mum, and Claudia has been wearing and loving bags for as long as she can remember. As basically sisters, with a friendship spanning a decade, it was only natural that our shared passions would intertwine. And so, ARDE was born.

We began by experimenting with fabrics discarded by factories. What started as curiosity quickly became something more meaningful: Seeing wearable pieces emerge from materials that would have otherwise been wasted.

Since then, we’ve built a network of mostly Indonesian women who knit from their homes and within their communities, each piece created with time, care, and skill.

We select the yarns we love most based on what we find, always prioritising quality. Because many of these materials come from excess production, we never know exactly which colours or fabrics will be available again. Once a drop is released, it’s unlikely to be repeated.

Each ARDE bag carries that process with it.
A piece shaped by the materials, the hands that made it, and the time taken to bring it to life.

Thank you for your support,

Luci & Claudia
